Requirements
- Jailbroken Kindle
- KUAL (Kindle Unified Application Launcher) for launching usbnetlite
- Computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux
- USB cable to connect your Kindle
How to Install
- Download the latest release from the kindle-usbnetlite GitHub releases page and extract the contents on your computer.
- Copy the entire usbnetlite folder to the /extensions directory on your Kindle’s USB storage.
- Safely eject your Kindle from your computer.
- On your Kindle, open KUAL and launch kindle-usbnetlite from the menu.
How to SSH into Your Kindle Over USB
- On your Kindle, open KUAL and launch kindle-usbnetlite to enable USB networking.
- Plug your Kindle into your computer with a USB cable.
- On your computer, set your USB network interface to IP address 192.168.15.201 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 if it does not configure automatically.
- Open a terminal on your computer and connect with:
ssh root@192.168.15.244
- When prompted for a password, enter: kindle
